The reference guide

Transurfing in twenty minutes: the model in eight blocks — the alternatives space, life lines, importance and excess potential, balancing forces, pendulums, intention, slides and goals, and Tufti's two screens — plus an A–Z glossary of the forty core concepts, a conceptual map, and a map of the books.

Transurfing in 20 minutes

Everything the practice uses fits on one page. Here is the model in eight blocks, in the order the books build it — from the field where every possibility already exists to Tufti’s two screens. Each block is one idea and its consequence in practice. If a term slips away, the glossary below carries its full card.

The alternatives space

01 · The space of variations

Every event that could ever happen already exists — like a film fully recorded — in the space of variations. Your life illuminates one frame at a time, and the frame it lights is the one your attention rests on. You do not create your life from nothing; you select a sector that is already there. The practical consequence: where you put your attention, your life goes.

Life lines

02 · Life lines

Your life glides along a chain of nearby sectors — a life line — each with its own script and scenery. You stay on a line until a meaningful shift reroutes you to another. The tone of a line follows your inner state, not the other way round: a heavy mood keeps you on a heavy line, and lightening the inner state lifts the scenery that follows. You change lines by changing what you broadcast, not by wrestling the outer picture.

Importance and excess potential

03 · Importance and excess potential

The main source of problems is importance. Whenever you inflate the weight of a desire, a fear, a judgement or your own standing, you create excess potential — tension in the field. Most of what goes wrong traces back to a push you made with too much importance attached. The skill is not to stop caring; it is to hold what matters as if it matters, without letting it inflate.

Balancing forces

04 · Balancing forces

The field does not leave excess potential in place. It restores equilibrium with balancing forces — and they usually push back against whoever generated the tension. This is why the harder you cling, the more it slips, and why expecting the worst so often delivers it. Read your own history through this and the pattern becomes visible: the world never punished you; it simply re-balanced what you strained.

Pendulums

05 · Pendulums

Pendulums are energetic structures formed when many people think or feel alike — companies, ideologies, trends, moods. They feed on your emotions: outrage, fear, admiration, guilt. A pendulum does not care about you; it only wants your energy, and it will pull you off your own life line to get it. The defence is noticing the pull before you answer it, and choosing your own script over the one it hands you.

Inner and outer intention

06 · Inner and outer intention

Inner intention is ordinary willpower — acting to reach, seize, push. Alone it generates excess potential and resistance. Outer intention is the resolve to have: feeling and thinking united around the target, then letting the world realize it. You still move, but without the desperate grip. The difference is visible in the body — inner intention strains, outer intention allows — and it is the whole craft of steering a frame.

Slides and goals

07 · Slides and goals

A slide is the mental image through which you interpret reality; unwitting slides run your life unseen. A goal slide is the deliberate version: the goal already achieved, pictured lightly and briefly, which illuminates the matching sector in the field. It only works when importance is low — the moment you pour desperation into the image, the balancing forces notice. Keep the slide calm, then act normally in its direction.

Tufti — two screens, presence center, the plait

08 · Tufti · The advanced practice

Tufti’s technique starts with attention caught between two screens: the inner one of thoughts and the outer one of the environment. Waking means centring attention between them — the presence center — from where you watch both without being grabbed by either. The intention plait is the felt lever, between the shoulder blades, that switches on outer intention without effort. From this center you compose the next frame wide awake, instead of reacting to the one that lit up.

Glossary A–Z

The forty core terms of the practice, from the alternatives space to the triple work. Each one is a concept card in the library — meaning, application and pitfall.

40 · A–Z
    1. Advantage principleThe advantage principle asks, in any unpleasant situation: what is the advantage in this? The question instantly shifts you to a more favourable film reel.
    2. AllowingAllowing is composing the desired outcome without trying to control the script or the route to it.
    3. Alternatives spaceThe alternatives space is an infinite information field that already contains every event that can ever happen, like a film fully recorded.
    1. Balancing forcesBalancing forces are the mechanism that neutralises excess potential, usually harming whoever generated it.
    1. Dependent relationshipsDependent relationships are bonds grounded in conditions — "if you do X, I do Y".
    2. Design vs. conditionDesign is the information pattern of something — its appearance, luck, circumstances.
    1. Eternity archiveThe Eternity archive is the repository of every possible film or reality; physical reality is only the currently lit frame.
    2. Excess potentialExcess potential is the energetic tension created whenever you give something disproportionate importance — a desire, a fear, guilt, admiration, pride.
    1. FrailingFrailing is a relationship technique: abandon the intention to receive and replace it with the intention to give.
    1. Goal slideA goal slide is the deliberate visualisation of your goal already realised, kept light and recurring rather than tense.
    2. Goals and doorsEach person has a true goal that is authentic, not imposed by pendulums, and their own door — the natural path to it.
    3. Greedy catchersGreedy catchers is the technique of eagerly noticing any sign of progress toward the goal and immediately reinforcing it with the intention plait.
    4. Guiding signsGuiding signs are the subtle pointers — coincidences, repeating phrases, sudden openings — that mark the path toward your true door.
    1. Imitation techniqueThe imitation technique is to act and feel as if the goal is already reality, in earnest, until the outer reality adjusts itself to match.
    2. ImportanceImportance comes in two forms: internal, an inflated self-assessment ("I matter so much"), and external, assigning exaggerated weight to an object or event.
    3. Importance coordinationImportance coordination is the practice of lowering the importance you attach to events.
    4. Induced transitionAn induced transition happens when you react to a pendulum's push — collective panic, alarming news, someone's provocation — and are dragged into a victim life line.
    5. Inner intentionInner intention is the resolve to actively act toward a goal, to reach out and seize it.
    6. Intention coordinationIntention coordination is the practice of choosing to interpret apparently negative events as positive, which redirects your life line toward the favourable branch.
    7. Intention plaitThe intention plait is a felt sensation located between the shoulder blades, used as a symbolic lever to switch on outer intention without muscular or mental effort.
    1. Law of contrastThe law of contrast says that if a door starts to open with difficulty, treat that as a signal to leave it.
    2. Life linesA life line is a chain of nearby sectors in the alternatives space; your life glides along one until a meaningful shift reroutes it to another line.
    1. Mannequins and scriptsMannequins refers to people unconsciously enacting scripts pulled by pendulums, like figures on strings.
    2. Meta-powerMeta-power is the force on the hidden side of the reality mirror, reached through the intention plait.
    1. Outer intentionOuter intention is the resolve to have, allowing the world to realise the will without direct effort.
    1. PendulumsPendulums are energetic-informational structures formed when many people think or feel similarly — companies, ideologies, trends, egregores.
    2. PolarizationPolarization is the comparison or contrast you set up between things or people, which produces excess potential and attracts balancing forces.
    3. Presence centerThe presence centre is the point of attention held between the two screens, where you watch both worlds without being grabbed by either.
    1. Rational egoismRational egoism is caring for your own energy and soul rather than sinking into guilt or performative compassion for others' suffering.
    2. Reality mirrorThe reality mirror is the three-dimensional mirror of the world: what you emit — energy, mood, expectation — returns as the reflection you meet.
    1. ScriptA script is the storyline your attention is running, mostly inherited from pendulums and habit.
    2. SlidesA slide is a distorted mental image — negative or positive — through which you project and interpret reality.
    3. Sweet harmonySweet harmony is the deliberate cultivation of good humour and lightness as a steady inner state, which attracts favourable circumstances.
    1. Thought formsThought forms are mental shapes that actively compose the new reality you want, building it sector by sector in the alternatives space.
    2. Thought markersThought markers are anchors placed after real signs of progress appear, locking in the change that already started to show.
    3. Transaction glidingTransaction gliding is moving through ordinary exchanges — payments, favours, conversations — with a smooth, low-importance quality, as if sliding past them.
    4. Triple workTriple work is the layered combination of intention, importance coordination and attention, applied together to one aim.
    5. Two screensAttention is caught between the inner screen of thoughts and inner dialogue and the outer screen of the environment.
    1. Variant flowThe variant flow is the track of cause and effect linking sectors in the alternatives space.
    1. Wave of fortuneThe wave of fortune is a cluster of particularly favourable life lines.

The books

Three works, one model. Here is what each one covers, and where to begin.

  1. Reality Transurfing I–V

    What it covers

The core model in five volumes — the space of variations, life lines, excess potential and the balancing forces, pendulums, inner and outer intention, slides. The map on which everything else stands.

    Where to start

Start with Volume I. It lays down the field, the illuminated frame, and why inflated importance is the root of most problems. Read it slowly; the rest of the practice builds on it.

  2. Master of Reality

    What it covers

A second, tighter series applying the same model to daily life — excess potential in relationships, polarization, the wave of fortune, rational egoism. Less theory, more tactics.

    Where to start

Read it after the first five volumes, or jump straight here if you want the day-to-day tools first. The model is assumed, not repeated.

  3. Tufti the Priestess

    What it covers

The advanced practice — the two screens, the presence center, the intention plait, thought forms and thought markers, and composing the next frame. This is where stage four of the app draws from.

    Where to start

Start with the last part of the book, or with the Tufti section of this guide. The technique stands on the core model, so the basics come first.

How this app uses it

The app turns the model into a daily practice. Every frame of the sixty-day journey carries one concept from this page as its teaching, one exercise as its practice, and one question as its reflection. The SOS protocols cover the moments when a pendulum has you. The library is the glossary above with each term’s application and pitfall. If you have read the books, the practice rebuilds the model in small applied pieces; if you have not, it is a faithful enough map to start from.
